Addiction Counseling & Sober Coaching Programs
Dr. Kirkpatrick’s proven Addiction Counseling and Sober Support Program was developed for clients who are in need of aftercare following treatment, as well as those who may be considering taking the important first step of their own recovery due to destructive patterns of addictive behavior. Each program is tailored to the needs of the specific client, their circumstances and family dynamics. As a professional deeply committed to helping others break destructive patterns of behavior, his methods allow him to play an integral role in motivating clients, holding them accountable and jump starting their early recovery.
Many times these services include involving family members, friends or significant others. The destructive nature of addictive diseases extends to the lives of the entire family structure, and therefore recovery is not only for the addicted individual – it must also address the needs of the extended family. In many cases, clients benefit significantly through having a family support team.
Components of the program may include family psychotherapy to provide education, tools, skills, etc. for the entire family to break any co-dependency and other issues that may present. The ultimate goal is healing the pain caused by the addictive process and patterns of behavior. Addiction Counseling includes but is not limited to the following areas:
Exploring different pathways to recovery
(i.e. 12-Step method, SMART Recovery®, Celebrate Recovery, etc.)
Education on the disease of addiction
Setting healthy boundaries
